Unfortunately, in the past four decades, India has witnessed over 2,300 bridge collapses.
Coratia is dedicated to addressing this issue and revolutionizing the AUV & ROV industry by offering comprehensive solutions that reduce costs in underwater operations. Their focus encompasses underwater civil structure inspections for bridges and dams, pipeline assessments, and services for ships and dockyards. Coratia’s vehicles are equipped with cutting-edge features such as laser scaling, bathymetry, crack detection, and real-time 3D model generation.
The startup recently featured on Season 3 of Shark Tank India, garnering attention from all sharks and receiving offers from Ritesh Agarwal (OYO) and Vineeta Singh (Sugar Cosmetics). They finalized a deal with Ritesh that has positioned Pontaq to 15X multiple on the invested capital.
Established by alumni of NIT Rourkela and based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Coratia embodies the spirit of India’s Make in India initiative. Coratia’s technology finds applications beyond Government infrastructure inspections, extending to Defense usage by the Indian Navy and Private sector enterprises for underwater infrastructure assessments. Notably, Coratia has successfully completed projects such as inspecting Naraj and Rushikulya Railway Bridge in Odisha, Mandira Dam for SAIL, and various projects for IOCL and TATA Steel. Furthermore, plans are underway to introduce Coratia’s technology to the Indian Navy within the next year.
